McKennah knew firsthand from her own childhood how painful and scary it was to grow up in a dangerous home. She couldn’t bear the thought of her daughter facing the same.

For ten years, Eric enjoyed his job as a welder, which provided a good living to support his family and raise three kids. But slowly he began to notice the steady stream of work starting to dry up.

Raquel was faced with the tragic news that she and her children were going to lose their home. She brought her family to San Diego Rescue Mission, and they encountered God’s grace here.

Sean had a good life as an aerospace engineer until he endured the deaths of several important people in his life. Unable to cope with the grief and the binge drinking and homelessness that it caused, Sean ended up at the Mission where he has rededicated his life to God.

When Timothy’s marriage ended after nearly 30 years, he was devastated. He was consumed by his heartbreak and unable to let go of the past. “My life spiraled downhill into things I never did before I was married,” he says.
