Meet Legacy Donors, Mike and Sandy Dunn
“We desire our legacy to be more than just what we did while we were here in this life.
Why not include a portion for the homeless, those who are less fortunate? We believe there will be plenty for our heirs, and so why not include something to help the San Diego Rescue Mission meet this significant need?”
Mike and Sandy married 35 years ago and have lived in San Diego for 28. They have two adult children and love traveling and spending time with friends. Their passion is living in obedience to and serving God. “We have a heart for others. We value relationships and are blessed when we can interact with people.”
The Dunn’s started their partnership with the San Diego Rescue Mission over 25 years ago. Their hearts softened to our neighbors without homes, and they became inspired by “doing more than writing a check.”
Sandy has actively volunteered for five years. She serves lunch to students once a week at the Rescue Mission downtown and volunteers in Oceanside with our Mobile Shower Trailer.
“We believe those who have been blessed are to be a blessing to others. We believe that those who are less fortunate are not merely to be labeled as homeless. They are people first and should be treated with dignity, love, and respect.
Anything we can do to help them matters. We love what SDRM does and are aligned completely with their mission.”
